As the 2026 academic year approaches its final weeks, an important season lies ahead for the students of Camp Brethren Schools. Across the classrooms, students and teachers are preparing for national examinations that will help determine the next steps in their educational journeys. For many of our children, these examinations represent years of hard work, sacrifice, perseverance, and the hopes of families who dream of seeing their children build brighter futures.

Our Grade 12 students are preparing for the Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) examinations, an important milestone as they look toward university, college, vocational training, and other opportunities beyond high school.
For some of these students, the dream of joining the Rachel’s Hope University Scholarship program is a powerful motivation. Having watched former Camp Brethren graduates progress to Kabarak University, they now have living examples of what determination, academic excellence, and opportunity can make possible.
Meanwhile, students in Grade 9 are preparing for their national assessments as they transition toward senior secondary school, while Grade 6 learners are completing their primary education and preparing for junior secondary school. Each of these transitions brings excitement, anticipation, and understandably, some anxiety. Yet we are encouraged by the dedication of the students, the commitment of their teachers, and the supportive learning environment that Camp Brethren continues to provide.
As the school year draws to a close, we are reminded that education at Camp Brethren is about more than examination results. It is about nurturing character, developing confidence, strengthening faith, and equipping children with the knowledge and values they need to navigate life responsibly.
A Community United in Prayer
We invite our DHI family to join us in praying for the students during this important season:
- Pray that God will grant them wisdom, clarity of mind, good health, and confidence as they sit their examinations.
- Pray also for their teachers and school administrators as they guide the students through these final weeks of preparation.
- At the end of October, students are expected to begin their long school holiday, returning home to spend time with their families before the new academic year begins in January 2027. We ask for your prayers for safe travels, protection, and peaceful holidays for every child as they return to their communities.
- We also pray that the students will return refreshed, encouraged, and ready for the opportunities that await them.

For many children in Eburru, access to quality education remains a life-changing opportunity made possible through the generosity of faithful sponsors.
Through the David’s Hope International sponsorship program, vulnerable children receive the support they need to continue learning in a caring, Christ-centered school environment. As we celebrate the progress of our students and prepare for another academic year, we invite you to consider becoming part of a child’s educational journey.
You can Sponsor a K–12 Student Here: https://davidshope.org/Sponsor-a-student/
Your support helps create opportunities for children to learn, discover their potential, and build foundations for a future filled with possibility. Together, we can continue helping the children of Eburru grow in knowledge, faith, and purpose.
As we continue into the months ahead, we invite you to keep praying with us, that God would continue to raise up leaders, provide for every ministry need, and use Camp Brethren Ministries to be a beacon of hope to the people of Eburru.
“And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds, not giving up meeting together… but encouraging one another—and all the more as you see the Day approaching.” — Hebrews 10:24–25
With gratitude and blessings,
