While having chai with my dear friends Tabitha and David in their home at CBM, I met their nephew, Amazing, a senior at CBM high school. He is one of the top performers in his grade and works hard to prepare for final exams in November. We talked about what it means to be a quality student and a person who can make lasting impact and positive changes in the community. It is hard for anyone to imagine how we can make lasting impact, even more so for a teenager to envision himself doing so. After talking this over, Amazing shared that last year he befriended a new student. This new student had not performed very well in his previous school and he felt very discouraged and overwhelmed. He shared that he didn’t think he could make it at CBM. Amazing encouraged him and supported him in his studies. By next semester, this new student had improved a whole grade on his exams. Like a thrown stone making ripples in the water, so do our actions. It might seem small to you, but you will never know how far reaching your kind actions are. Keep spreading kindness around you.
