Introducing the new Rachel’s Hope Scholarship (RHS)

The Rachel’s Hope Scholarship is a new transformative initiative that empowers exceptional graduates of Camp Brethren High School through comprehensive financial support, tailored mentorship, and leadership development. Our goal is not only to remove financial barriers to higher education but also to nurture future leaders who embody academic excellence, servant leadership, and strong Christian values.  We are grateful for our new partners Jeff & Charisma who came up with this idea and are helping to manage this program.  We are also grateful for our partnership with Lifeshape and the Chick-fil-A operators who have inspired us to integrate university education with mentorship and the leadership academy to help produce Rachel’s Hope Scholars that graduate university with a certification in practical leadership skills.  We are starting with 9 scholars this year and prayerfully planning to add 9 or more scholars each year.  It will not be easy to accomplish the lofty goals we have set for this program, but with a lot of hard work and with faith in the Lord we are confident the program will thrive.  We are seeking partners to help support this program.  See below for the students and if you are interested in helping sponsor a student or help in any way, please let us know!

The VISION is to transform the Eburru community through advanced education of Camp Brethren graduates who will lead their communities and country, grounded in Christian faith and empowered by a university education.

The MISSION is to enable all graduating seniors of Camp Brethren High School with academic excellence, motivation and faith in Jesus Christ to attend university and receive mentorship & leadership certification, regardless of financial means.

How the Program Works

  • Financial Support:
Rachel’s Hope Scholars benefit from a scholarship covering approximately $3,000 per year for tuition, books, housing, food, and essential program overhead.  With support for the full four years, this financial backing allows students to focus on their studies and personal growth.
  • Academic Excellence:
Selected students gain access to quality education at a prominent Christian University called Kabarak University, located about 2 hours from Eburru in Nakuru.  Students will pursue degrees in a variety of majors from Engineering, Medicine, Nursing, Law, and Agronomy.
  • Mentorship & Leadership Development:
Each scholar is enrolled in an extensive mentorship program, featuring weekly study sessions, monthly mentoring sessions and biannual leadership retreats. We are using Leadership Academy materials to develop a 4-year curriculum designed to cultivate integrity, leadership skills, financial management, personal accountability, and career readiness. This approach will help ensure that our students not only succeed academically but also develop into well-rounded adults with the heart and skills to lead their families, communities and more in the future.
  • Giving Back:
The program emphasizes overall character development. Rachel’s Hope Scholars are required to engage in peer mentorship while they are at university.  Upon graduation, scholars are required to either work at CBM for 2 years or sponsor a CBM student for 4 years, depending on the needs of CBM and when the student is in a position to fund a sponsorship.

In Gratitude
Your generous support is the cornerstone of our success. By investing in these bright young minds, you are contributing to a future where education drives positive change, community service is at the heart of progress, and emerging leaders are equipped to make a lasting impact on society.  Thank you!
