A story about Daniel
Daniel was born in the village of Eburru Kenya among many brothers and sisters. His mother raised him up since the father passed on when he was very young. As a very small-scale farmer, the mother struggled to bring up the many kids and Daniel was not able to go to school like many other kids because of lack of support and the destitute state of his family. His dreams were shuttered of ever being anything in life. He lived to see children go to school and wondered whether God knew him or even had any plans for his life.
Through the ministry of Camp Brethren, and the church planting, the mother joined the church, and her kids started to come to the church too. Mary the director of the school got the story of Daniel from his mother and decided to admit him in grade one through the school’s sponsorship program supported through David’s Hope international. Daniel accepted Jesus as his savior and was baptized in the year 2018 together with 68 others who had given their lives to Christ through the church. After grade 8 graduation from Camp Brethren elementary school, He joined the Camp Brethren High school where he graduated after 4 years of study.
For Daniel, he believes that it is God who used Camp Brethren to mentor and guide his life. In his testimony he wrote, “When I Joined Camp Brethren, I knew nothing and had nothing…. I am who I am today because of Camp Brethren and the support of God’s people.” Daniel has vowed to replicate what he has seen in Camp Brethren and wants to serve God and reach out to others that are in the same situation like he was. Contrary to many other students in his class who proceeded to the university to follow career programs, Daniel has decided to join the seminary to study for ministry at Moffat Bible college in Kijabe, Kenya. He still needs our prayers and support as his program is being supported by Camp Brethren and David’s hope.
The story of Daniel is one of many examples for how God has used CBM and DHI over these many years.
Thank you!
We are very grateful!
