April Update

Last month, DHI’s Scott Sweat, Susan Sweat and Fred Baerenz met with a NY based investment company and presented a summary of all the wonderful work that DHI has facilitated in Eburru, Kenya.

The meeting was a continuation of a dialogue begun last year at the award ceremony where DHI was honored and Scott was named the Investment News Advisor of the Year for Global Community Outreach. The two principals of the investment company and their families, one Quaker, the other Jewish, have been captivated by the overwhelming need of Eburru, and the holistic approach of Camp Brethren Ministries and David’s Hope to meet that need in a self-sustainable manner.

As a result, they are providing an immediate grant of $50,000! They also have provided us with a “challenge” grant of another $50,000 once David’s Hope matches that amount with new fundraising between now and June 11, 2013.

God is good and He never ceases to amaze us here at DHI. If you have been thinking about giving to David’s Hope this year, will you consider giving before June 11th? Our investment friends will match all funds raised in the next 8 weeks up to $50,000.

Annual DHI BBQ – April 27th

The annual David’s Hope BBQ will take place on Saturday, April 27th at 2pm at Lake Fairfax in Reston. We will provide the food, drinks and some games for kids and adults alike.

We hope you will come hang out and enjoy a nice day in the park. More info on our facebook page. All friends, family and dogs are welcome!
