April 2011 Praise and Prayer Requests

Please join us in praying for the work in Eburru and in praising God for the mighty ways in which He answers our prayers!

Praises:

  • Rain has started falling again in Eburru and all the locals are planting crops
  • A new prescription nurse, Justus, has been hired to work full time at the clinic, easing the workload for Steve & Mary and providing more thorough medical care for the community
  • The clinic is now operating 24/7 and assisted on 8 deliveries in March
  • A female calf has been born to one of the cows purchased by David’s Hope!  The mother is now producing 10 liters of milk each day, some of which is used to nourish the school children
  • Thanks to funding from David’s Hope supporters, the school was able to complete their kitchen expansion project and purchased additional textbooks for the school children.  (3 children now share 1 book, a great improvement compared to the old 1 book per classroom situation)

Prayers:

  • Pray for continuing rain and a fruitful crop for Camp Brethren and their neighbors
  • Camp Brethren is pursuing a full time registration from the Ministry of Education (they are currently operating under a temporary provisional registration).  Pray for Jonathan, the school’s manager, as he works to complete this essential administrative task
  • A massive drilling and piping project is underway to convert the underground volcanic steam which is plentiful in Eburru into usable water at the school compound.  Pray for this project to be safely and smoothly completed.
  • The new Jerusalem Church plant is now 3 months old and is seeing a lot of growth.  Please pray for the building of this new church community, in addition to the Eburru Africa Inland Church.
