Recently, something special happened at Camp Brethren Schools. A group of graduating Grade 9 students, Class of 2025, released an original song written and performed at CBM that captures more than melody , it captures belief.
They call themselves “The Vanguards.”
The word Vanguards is used to mean those who go first — pioneers who step into the unknown with courage, clearing the way for others to follow. For these students, the name is deeply personal. They are the first generation standing at the entrance of Kenya’s new education pathway (Competency Based Curriculum), having completed their Grade 9 KEJSEA national exams, and preparing to step into Senior High School (Grade 10 – 12) with confidence rather than fear.
Their song, “We Are the Vanguards with No Fear, No Limits,” is an anthem of hope. As you watch and listen, you’ll hear their hearts, young people declaring that their circumstances will not define them, that fear will not hold them back, and that their future is worth believing in. They also believe that fear does not define them and that their future rests securely in God’s hands.
This confidence did not appear overnight.
It has been nurtured through years of prayer, faithful leadership, and God’s clear intervention at Camp Brethren Ministries. Under the spiritual leadership of Pastor Steve Njenga and the steady, visionary directorship of Mrs. Mary Njenga, CBM has grown into a place where academic excellence and Christian discipleship walk hand in hand. Their commitment to building not just strong students, but Godly young leaders, continues to shape lives across Eburru.
Many of these Grade 9 students are now eagerly awaiting the opportunity to join Camp Brethren High School for Grades 10–12. Their hope is grounded in what they have already experienced—a school environment marked by care, discipline, faith, and belonging.
That environment exists because of you.
Your faithful support to CBM has helped build more than classrooms — it has built hope. It has provided laboratories, dormitories, learning spaces, and a strong administration that allows the school to grow sustainably. These investments are now bearing visible fruit.
In fact, this very song is being used as part of CBM’s outreach and enrollment efforts for January. Because of the school’s growing reputation, strong performance, and Christ-centered culture, CBM is prayerfully anticipating up to a 20% increase in new student enrollment—a remarkable testimony of God’s faithfulness.
The Vanguards’ song is proof that when students are given opportunity, safety, faith, and encouragement, they rise. They dream. They lead. And they inspire others to follow.
As we continue the End of Year Campaign 2025, your generosity is helping ensure that more students can sing songs like this — not just with their voices, but with their lives.
Thank you for being part of the story that turns fear into faith, and limits into possibilities.
